What are hooded eyes? Hooded eyes are when a person has excess skin folding down from the brow bone to the lash line. It can be due to aging but is often times hereditary.
Often times with hooded eyes, the outer corner of the eyes down turn to follow the natural shape of the brow bone. Having worked on many women with these beautiful eye shapes, they often prefer a more rounded shape effect when working with eyes shadows and lashes.

A key thing to note when applying makeup for hooded eyes is not to over do it on the eyeliner. We recommend just finely filling in the lash line or a baby wing at the outer corners helps to create a fuller defined eye without the heaviness of liner from inner to outer corner, especially since most of it gets covered by the lid. When working on clients, we skip the liner and opt for a just a lashful look to open up and round out the eyes. Our clients love this approach and often comment how it they feel it opens up their eyes rather than closing it up.
